England against Ireland

A crowd of over 600 ventured the wind, rain and the hail at Cannock HC to watch England’s Commonwealth Bronze medallists overcome their Irish counterparts 1-0.

The only goal of the game came in the 54th minute when Captain Kate Walsh converted a penalty corner.

This was England’s last game before the final squad for the World Cup Qualifiers at the end of April is picked. A top five finish in Rome will see England qualify for the World Cup in Madrid in September.
